Restarting in Safety

From Tuesday May 19th we can reopen the South Tyrol Museum of Archaeology! We, the South Tyrol Museum of Archaeology’s team, are already working on preparing all safety precautions for the museum to make sure your visit will be a safe experience!
Ötzi and his unique associated finds must therefore wait a little while longer before they can astound you again.

Angelika Fleckinger, director of the Archaeology Museum, stated “according to current guidelines, a maximum of 80 visitors will be allowed entry at the same time (previously 300). In addition, visitors will be required to wear nose and mouth protection and to maintain a distance of at least 2 meters from one another”. To avoid crowds, we kindly ask you to purchase tickets for your preferred timeframe online.

Unfortunately tours are not possible for the moment. We therefore invite our visitors to download the Audio Guide Apps “Ötzi” (for a fee) and “Mission Ötzi” for children (free of charge) prior to your museum visit.
Further advice for a trouble-free museum visit can be found here.
