The city of Bolzano is very easy to reach by train from all over Italy. There is a regional line between Merano and Bolzano. The railway station in the capital is very central, just a 15-minute walk from the museum. The station has a luggage storage and a bicycle rental.

All city buses that stop at the Stazione 3 stop, at the train station, take you to the immediate vicinity of the museum (Via Cassa di Risparmio stop). Those arriving from the Gries district can get off at Via Rosmini or Via Ospedale. Bolzano is reached by many extra-urban lines. The museum is about a 10-minute walk from the bus station.

Bolzano can be reached from the north and south via the SS 12 state road or the A22 Brennero-Modena motorway. From Passo Resia, the city can be reached via the SS 38 state road and the MeBo (Merano-Bolzano) highway.
