Guided Tour
Guided tour through the permanent exhibition “The Iceman”
A guide from our institution will accompany your group through the museum, introducing the fascinating world of Ötzi and presenting the most important objects in the permanent exhibition.
Duration: 50 minutes
Participants: Maximum 25 people per tour
When: On all museum opening days, bookable slots between 9:00 AM and 3:45 PM
Price: 1-14 persons: 60,00 Euro per group + entry fee
15 or more persons: 4.00 Euro per person + entry fee
Important, when making inquiries with us: Our reservation office will respond to your inquiries and confirm all reservations in writing. Please send this to: info@iceman.it We recommend that your group makes a reservation even if you do not require a guided tour. With a reservation, your group can always enter the museum at the desired time without waiting.
360° Online Tour
Online group tour in the permanent exhibition
Don't have the opportunity to visit the South Tyrol Archaeology Museum in Bolzano in person? No problem! Book the 360° online tour for your group and explore the exhibits related to the Iceman in a different way. We will guide you virtually through the 3D spaces of the permanent exhibition, show you the mummy, and explain individual objects and areas. You can expect unique archaeological finds and exciting insights into current research results.
Duration: 50 minutes
Where: On your computer (a stable internet connection and one of the following browsers are required: Chrome, Firefox, Safari, and Edge, all in their latest versions)
Participants: Maximum 35 people per online tour
When: Bookable from Tuesday to Friday, at 9:00 AM, 10:30 AM, 12:00 PM, 2:00 PM, 3:30 PM, and 4:45 PM (CET)
Price: 60,00 Euro per group

Multimedia audio guides for adults
Our multimedia audio guide will conduct you through the permanent exhibition.
The multimedia audio guide on iPod device provides exciting information and background knowledge about the permanent exhibition “Ötzi-The Iceman” in the South Tyrol Museum of Archaeology. Emily Copper and her digital assistant Eddi will guide you in discovering Ötzi, the Iceman. The audio guide contains 27 audio commentary sections lasting 1-3 mins. each (50 mins. in total) and images.
Available in English, in German, in Italian, in French, Dutch and Spanish.
Lending fee per device: 4,00 Euro
You will be asked to leave a valid ID (ID card, passport or driving licence) as security.
The minimum age to borrow the audio guide is 18 years. Adults can also borrow audio guides for children but must monitor their use. The content of the audio guide for adults is suitable for children from the age of around 10/12 years.
You can also download the museum’s audio guide app to your smartphone prior to your visit. Please don’t forget to bring your own headphones. You can buy disposable headphones in the museum.
