The South Tyrol Museum of Archaeology is seeking a scientific curator for the mummy

The South Tyrol Museum of Archaeology in Bolzano is hiring a scientific specialist for conducting research on Ötzi the Iceman mummy, its conservation, and participating in the museum’s science communication. This full-time position is available from fall 2024.

Are you a recognized expert in the fields of paleopathology, bioarchaeology, or mummy research? Do you have skills in project management and conservation? Then apply here by August 31, 2024 and become Ötzi’s curator.

This role involves regularly monitoring the glacier mummy and conducting conservation measures, as well as initiating and implementing research projects. Additional responsibilities include publishing research findings and supporting the museum’s educational outreach. The specialist will also handle scientific inquiries both within and outside the museum.
