PAST FOOD is opening

Our new special exhibition PAST FOOD – 15,000 years of nutrition is opening on 27 November 2023!

On invitingly set tables, curious visitors will learn how our ancestors satisfied their hunger: which foods they were accustomed to and how they prepared or preserved them.
Archaeological finds from South Tyrol and Trentino reveal the culinary habits or necessities from 10,000 years ago. In some instances, these still influence our local menu today.
The special exhibition is accessible to young and old. Numerous interactive stations let visitors delve deeper; others cleverly convey interesting aspects of the history of nutrition.

An appetizing support program is available for school groups of all ages and teachers: https://www.iceman.it/de/schule/#vermittlungsformate

The special exhibition can be visited until 3 November 2024. The museum is also open on Mondays in December, July, and August.
