Guided tour of the special exhibition UNDER PROPAGANDA for adults

The South Tyrol Museum of Archaeology’s special exhibition (25 Nov. 2025 – 8 Nov. 2026) shows how archaeology in South Tyrol was hijacked for ideological purposes between 1920 and 1972. Fascist researchers presented Roman relics as evidence of “Latin origins”, while Nazis interpreted prehistoric finds as “Germanic heritage”. A wide variety of archaeological finds recovered during the interwar period are being displayed for the first time according to modern scientific standards.
