General Terms and Conditions of Business
Article 1 – Scope of application
The sale of a web ticket for admission to the South Tyrol Museum of Archaeology via the virtual shop of the official website www.iceman.it is subject solely to the following General Terms and Conditions of Business in the version valid at the time of purchase. The vendor is the State Museum domiciled at Pascolistraße/Via Pascoli 2a, I-39100 Bolzano/Bozen (BZ), hereinafter referred to as the Vendor.
Definition of a web ticket: A web ticket does entitle the Purchaser to direct access to the exhibition. The purchase of a web ticket entitles the Purchaser to priority access.
Definition of priority access: Visitors entitled to priority access receive preferential treatment if there is a queue at the museum entrance and may either enter the museum immediately or (if immediate access is not possible for safety reasons) wait at the head of the queue, whereupon they will be admitted at the earliest possible opportunity.
Article 2 – Completion of contract and booking
With successful payment, the Purchaser declares that he/she is legally competent and that the personal data he/she has provided are correct. The contract between the Vendor and the Purchaser becomes valid upon payment of the ticket price. Web tickets can be booked up to midnight of the day before the museum visit.
Purchased web tickets are delivered by email. The Purchaser is sent an email to the email address given during purchase within several minutes of booking. The email contains a PDF document with a QR-code and the booking code. The Purchaser must print out the web ticket or carry it on a portable screen and present it at the time of the museum visit. Care must be taken not to fold or crease the QR-code area of the ticket. The museum staff will be happy to answer any questions and provide assistance.
Article 3 – Entry conditions and right of cancellation
If it is not possible for the Purchaser to visit the museum on the day and time slot booked, the right to priority access lapses. In this case the Purchaser must proceed to the ticket office of the museum on the day of his/her visit, which will then convert it to a regular ticket.
The web ticket is valid for six months. It is not possible to rebook, cancel or reimburse the web ticket.
Article 4 – Payment methods
Payment must be made by credit card. We accept Visa and Mastercard. The credit card details given at the time of booking are transmitted via a secure link (SSL encryption).
Procedure for the Purchaser:
Using his/her own browser, the Purchaser navigates to the contractual virtual shop, selects the items he/she wants and is then redirected to the WebPOS page of the Südtiroler Sparkasse for payment. The Purchaser is then returned to the page of the virtual shop, which displays the result of the authorization request.
The sensitive data entered (credit card details) are secured by the SSL protocol, which establishes a secure channel between the Purchaser’s computer and the WebPOS server. The service is currently provided in three languages (Italian, German and English).
The payment procedure for the Purchaser comprises the following steps:
1. Within the virtual shop the Purchaser selects the desired items, enters his/her personal data required for the purchase (except the credit card number, security code and expiry date) and the type of credit card being used for payment. The Purchaser is then redirected to the secure payment page of the WebPOS server.
2. The number, expiry date and security code of the credit card are entered on the SSL-secure WebPOS page.
3. If the international network selected supports the 3D secure certificate and if the card holder has activated the “Verified by Visa/MasterCard Secure Code” service, the Purchaser is redirected to the website of the card-issuing institute, where he/she can provide authentication by entering a password.
4. The Purchaser is then returned to the virtual shop.
Article 5 – Guarantee and liability
The Vendor bears no liability for technical faults in the operation of its virtual shop. If problems are encountered with the virtual shop, the Purchaser should contact the South Tyrol Museum of Archaeology.
Article 6 – Applicable law and place of jurisdiction
The exclusive place of jurisdiction is Bolzano. The contractual relationships between the contractual partners is subject exclusively to Italian law to the exclusion of the UN Sales Convention.
