Ötzi the Iceman - App for Kids

Archaeology at your fingertips: the Iceman is now also available as an app for children.
The Ötzi app for children can be downloaded to an iPhone or iPad and tells kids about the man from the ice in an amusing way. Alongside the latest scientific discoveries, there are explanations about his impressive gear and tattoos, which can be examined close up in detail.
This children’s app uses simple and exciting texts to encourage further reading on the topic. Illustrations designed specifically for the app, interactive elements and a specially composed soundtrack make the app an all-round experience with a high educational value.

The app has been developed for children from the age of 7 years. An adult should accompany children below the age of 10 when first using the app: afterwards children can manage perfectly well on their own.

The Ötzi app for children is available in three languages (Engliah, German, Italian). The App costs 1.79 euros (introductory price) and is available on the App Store.

A YouTube video gives a foretaste of the app.

The Ötzi App was developed by the Bozen digital publisher LARIXPRESS in co-operation with the South Tyrol Museum of Archaeology. LARIXPRESS specialises in apps for children and has already brought out a successful children’s app about the legend of King Laurin. More information at the press room of LARIXPRESS.
